DIY Buffalo Check Pumpkin Fall Wreath

Add a cozy, country touch to your fall decor with this DIY buffalo check pumpkin fall wreath. This farmhouse fall wreath is a great way to welcome autumn into your home and it makes a fun and easy fall craft for adults.

I got the grapevine garland at Micheals for $7 with a 50% off coupon. Money saving tip: If you sign up for their newsletter, they include coupons all the time.

The pumpkin wreath form, floral wire, burlap leaves, twine, and buffalo check ribbon came from Dollar Tree! You can even get cotton stem stalks there as well (I already had some on hand from another project, but I believe mine came from Hobby Lobby though).

The buffalo check and white pumpkins came from Hobby Lobby as well. They frequently have 50% off fall decor sales, so I got a bag full for $5.

In total, all of the supplies cost about $20 so it’s a definitely budget-friendly fall wreath to make.

This fall craft only takes 30 minutes to make. All you do is attach the grapevine garland to the frame with floral wire. Add some accents like bows, sprays/stems, fall leaves, etc. and voilà, you’ve got a unique fall wreath to add to your front door.

This buffalo check pumpkin fall wreath makes a great addition to your farmhouse fall porch decor and will add some curb appeal to your front door.

There are so many ways you can customize it to fit your own style too. Here are some extra ideas:

    • add grass, eucalyptus, raffia, wheat stems, fall berry sprays, acorns, pinecones and much more
    • use a burlap bow with buffalo check leaves
    • wrap a white fall berry garland around the grapevine
    • add a splash of color with some sunflowers or mums

    Yield: 1 wreath
    Cost: $20

    Equipment

    • hot glue gun
    • sharp scissors
    • floral wire
    • floral wire cutters
    • tape measure

    Materials

    • 1 wire pumpkin wreath form
    • 1 15 ft grapevine garland
    • 2 cotton stem stalks
    • 3 buffalo check and white pumpkins
    • 2 large burlap leaves
    • twine
    • 1 buffalo check ribbon

    Instructions

    • Wrap grapevine garland around the exterior outline of the wreath, attaching it to the wreath form with floral wire as you go. Skip the stem.
    • Measure the length of each interior wire (as they vary in size) and cut out the appropriate sizes of grapevine garland.
    • Attach the pieces of garland to the insides of the wreath form with the floral wire. The whole pumpkin should be covered in grapevine now.
    • Wrap twine around the stem of the pumpkin and glue the ends with hot glue.
    • Add a buffalo check bow below the stem in the center by attaching it with floral wire.
    • Glue two burlap leaves to each side of the top of the pumpkin.
    • Add one cotton stalk to each side of the bottom of pumpkin form using floral fire to secure it in place.
    • Add any extra accents you want on the bottom (bows, ribbons, fall picks, fall leaves, etc).
    • Finally, glue the pumpkins where you want them.
