Supplies You’ll Need

You don’t need many supplies to play this game. Gather:

For a quick one-time activity, regular printer paper works just fine. If you plan to use the cards again in a classroom, homeschool setting, or year after year with your family, you could print them on cardstock and laminate them.

How to Play Fall Bingo

If your kids already know how to play bingo, they can jump right into this game. If not, the rules are easy to learn.

1. Give each player one card and a set of bingo tokens.
2. Have everyone cover the FREE space in the center of the board.
3. Cut the calling cards apart, shuffle them, and place them face down in a pile or a bowl.
4. Choose one person to be the bingo caller.
5. The caller draws one picture at a time and announces what it is.
6. Players look for the matching picture on their bingo card.
7. If they have the picture, they place a token on that square.
8. Continue drawing cards until someone covers five spaces in a row horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
9. The first player to complete a row calls out “Bingo!”
10. Check their winning spaces against the calling cards that have already been drawn.

When playing with preschoolers or other younger children, hold up each calling card so they can see the picture while you name it. This makes it much easier for them to find the matching image on their board.

Fun Ways to Play Fall Bingo

Traditional bingo isn’t the only way to use these cards. Changing the winning pattern is an easy way to keep kids interested through several rounds.

Traditional Bingo – Cover five pictures in a row horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.

Four Corners – The first person to cover all four corners of their card wins.

X Bingo – Players must complete both diagonal rows so that the covered squares form a large X across the board.

Picture Hunt Bingo – Instead of immediately naming the picture on the calling card, hold it up and let the kids identify the item first. This is an easy way to add a little fall vocabulary practice to the game.
