    $15 DIY Dollar Tree Hot Chocolate Bar

    $15 DIY Dollar Tree Hot Chocolate Bar

    Keep your guests warm this winter for less with this $15 DIY Dollar Tree Hot Chocolate Bar. Not only it is cheap, but it’s easy to make as well! You can make this hot chocolate bar in under 30 minutes.

    The best part of this project is that no one would know you got all these supplies from Dollar Tree because with a few decorative touches, it looks more elegant and costs a fraction of the price!

    Dollar Tree Hot Chocolate Bar Supplies:

    • glass jars with lids and/or small glass vases for the tall items like cinnamon sticks, candy canes, etc.
      • you could use any empty jars that you have at home like mason jars or used jam jars
    • clear plastic serving tray
    • clear plastic napkin holder 
    • salt & pepper shakers
    • gold picture frame (4×6)
    • gold spray paint (optional – $3 at Walmart)
    • gold ribbon, letter stickers, gold wrapping paper (optional)

    TOTAL: $5 to $10, depending if you have the jars already and want to do the decorative touches

    Dollar Tree Hot Chocolate Ingredients and Toppings

    Dollar Tree Hot Chocolate Toppings & Ingredients:

    • hot chocolate
    • coffee mugs
    • marshmallows
    • peppermint sticks or candies
    • chocolate (kisses, chips, etc.) and/or chocolate syrup
    • caramels or caramel syrup
    • cinnamon, cinnamon sugar and/or cinnamon sticks
    • whipped cream
    • sprinkles
    • chocolate wafer rolls

    These are the items that I used, but it is very customizable based on what you like. I spend about $6 on ingredients and had some of the basics like whipped cream, sprinkles, cinnamon and chocolate already. All of these items listed can be bought at Dollar Tree.


    Dollar Tree Hot Chocolate Bar Instructions:

    1. Spray paint lids, tray and napkin holder. Let dry overnight.
    2. Measure the diameter of the vase and cut a gold ribbon to size. Then, glue it to the back of the vases using a glue gun.
    3. Wrap gift paper around the condiment bottle and cut it to the right size then secure it onto the bottle with clear tape.
    4. Place letter stickers or labels on jars, if desired.
    5. Download the printable hot chocolate sign here. It is for a 4×6 frame.
    6. Optional. – I made the snowflake garland using 2 packs of $1 snowflake ornaments and a white curling ribbon. I tied the ornaments to the ribbon, making sure to space it evenly across.

      I realize this is a very old post, but do you have any idea where you got the gold letter stickers? They are so nice and Ive been looking everywhere for them for the past 2 hours! I cant find them!

        Hi Sarah,

        I actually made those with my Cricut and gold vinyl using the Friday font, but Walmart sells similar ones for a few dollars too.
