How to Print and Assemble Your Free Printable Banner
Printing Instructions
- Prep your printer: Load white cardstock into your printer tray. Cardstock works much better than regular copy paper, especially if you want the banner to hold its shape.
- Download the file: Click the “Get it Here” button at the bottom of the post to open the printable PDF.
- Save the PDF: Click the download icon, usually near the top or bottom of your browser, and save the file to your computer.
- Open and print: Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat or another PDF viewer, then print. Go to File > Print and set the sizing to Fit so the banner pieces do not get cut off.
- Choose the best quality: For the best results, select the highest print quality available in your printer settings. If your printer has options like “Best,” “High Quality,” “Cardstock,” or “Premium Matte,” choose those for a cleaner, more vibrant finish.
Assembly Instructions
- Cut out the pieces: Trim each banner flag neatly along the edges using scissors or a paper trimmer. A paper trimmer will give you the cleanest, straightest edges.
- Punch holes: Use a hole punch to make holes near the top corners of each banner piece.
- String it together: Thread ribbon, twine, yarn, or string through the holes and arrange the pieces to spell “Class of” followed by the graduation year.
- Hang it up: Tape, tie, or hook the ends in place, then adjust each banner piece so it hangs evenly.
Decoration Ideas to Match This Banner
The black-and-gold banner has a classic look that pairs well with other matching black, gold, and white decorations. For an easy party setup, hang the banner above a dessert table and pair it with gold balloons, black tablecloths, metallic confetti, and gold-framed photos of the graduate. Most of these party supplies you can get at Dollar Tree!
You can also use it as part of a graduation photo backdrop. Add a black-and-gold balloon garland, tissue paper fans, streamers, tassel garlands, or a few oversized number balloons to create a fun spot for pictures with family and friends.
For classroom graduations or kindergarten graduation celebrations, display it on a bulletin board, whiteboard, doorway, or wall. Add student artwork, paper diplomas, graduation caps, or photos to make the display even more special for them.
