Materials You'll Need

  • Printer: Any home printer works
  • Paper: Cardstock (65 lb or higher) is best for durability
  • Scissors or paper trimmer: For the calling cards and tokens
  • A container: Bowl, bag, or hat to draw calling cards from
    • To make it extra festive, you can take any plastic bowl/gift bag in purple, green or gold from Dollar Tree and decorate it with stickers, beads, and ribbons in festive colors.
  • Optional: Laminator or sheet protectors (for reuse)
  • Optional prizes: beads, stickers, masks, etc.

Printing Tips

  • Print on cardstock if you can.
  • In your printer settings, choose:
    • Paper size: Letter (8.5 x 11)
    • Scale: Fit to Page
    • Quality: "Best" for richer color

How to Play Mardi Gras Bingo

  1. Grab the printable.
Scroll to the bottom of this post and click the "Get it Now" button to download the free PDF.
  2. Open and print.
Open the file in a PDF viewer (like Adobe Acrobat) and print the bingo cards + calling cards. Print the tokens as well if you want matching markers.
  3. Prep the game.
Cut out the calling cards (and tokens if using). Toss the calling cards into a bowl or bag and mix them up.
  4. Hand out cards + markers.
Give each player one unique bingo card and a handful of tokens, or use any fun "markers" from the list below.
  5. Start calling!
One person is the caller. They draw a calling card and show it (or announce it) while players search their cards and mark the matching image.
  6. Call a win.
First player to complete the chosen pattern shouts "Bingo!" (or for fun flair: "Mardi Gras!")
  7. Award prizes (optional but fun).
Hand out a prize to the winner or give a small prize for every win if you're playing multiple rounds.

Choose Your Winning Pattern

Want to keep things simple… or make it more exciting? Pick a win style before you start:

  • Easy: One straight line (row, column, or diagonal)
  • Medium: Four corners
  • Trickier: An "X" (both diagonals)
  • Party Mode: Full blackout (cover the whole card)

Fun Marker Ideas

If you want to make it feel extra festive, swap the paper markers for something like this:

  • Gold coins or buttons
  • Pom-poms (purple, green, and gold)
  • Sequins or rhinestones
  • Fleur-de-lis stickers
  • Confetti or vase filler
  • Little foam shapes

Prize Ideas for Winners

Most of these items you can find at Dollar Tree, so they are a budget-friendly way to add a little more excitement to the game:

  • Mardi Gras masks
  • Beaded necklaces
  • Feathered headbands
  • Feather boa
  • Mini hats
  • Festive bracelets
  • Purple or gold star balloons
  • DIY mask kits (great classroom prize!)

Classroom tip: If you want it simple, use one small prize per round and a sticker or pencil for everyone at the end.
