About Me
I'm Stephy, the creator of Prudent Penny Pincher. I'm a professional blogger, author, and content creator with a B.A. in English and an M.A. in Library and Information Science. My background in writing, research, and information organization plays a big role in how I create content for this site.
I started this journey in 2015, initially inspired by my own experiences. With student loans and high living costs, I had to learn to stretch every penny. Through trial and error and extensive research, I mastered the art of penny-pinching and discovered that living on a budget doesn't mean sacrificing life’s pleasures. My mission is to empower everyday people to live joyfully while saving money.
When I'm not working on the blog, you can usually find me drinking coffee, reading, listening to classical music, or spending time with my fur babies.

Where can I get copies of your recipe books?
Mindy says
Is there a pdf of the recipe collections? Looking to save time rather than clicking every link and then printing it out. I love your website thank you so much for providing all the information you do.
prudentpennypincher.com says
Hi Mindy,
You are very welcome 🙂 I’m glad to hear that you enjoy the website! Unfortunately, there is not a PDF version of the round up posts I do because of copyright issues. Many of those links go to different websites. I’m sorry!
Darlene Turenne says
Do you sell the gingerbread book?
prudentpennypincher.com says
Hi Darlene, No, sorry — these are not books for sale. They are just free ideas. You can click the link for the one you want and they will give you a tutorial for how to make it.

OMFG, shitty ad serving interruptions from Hell, I just wanted to read a page. Instead I’ve been redirected, had advertisements take over, and I am fighting to even leave a comment about the ads
Page load sucks. Ad serving sucks.
I CANNOT READ YOUR WRITING BECAUSE ADS TAKE OVER.
prudentpennypincher.com says
Hi,
I’m sorry to hear that! Thank you so much for taking the time to let me know. I really appreciate it! There should never be any redirections or pop ups with my ads. Occasionally, bad ads get served so I reported it to my advertising partners.
Thanks again,
Stephy

This is supposed to be vegetarian recipes and I don’t know if anybody has told you yet but anything with Alfredo sauce isn’t vegetarian. Alfredo sauce is made with parmesan cheese. Parmesan Cheese is made with rennet which is a calves stomach lining. Just thought you should know.
prudentpennypincher.com says
Hi Nicole, I think you meant to post your comment on my vegetarian post not the about page, but yes you are right that most parmesan cheese is not vegetarian. However, there are many brands sold in the US that are labelled “Vegetarian Parmesan” without animal rennet. BelGioioso Vegetarian Parmesan is one of the more popular choices. You can find a full list of vegetarian cheese here: https://vegetatio.com/content/joyous-living-full-vegetarian-cheese-list — Hope that helps!

Are these books to order???
Deanne Brinkley says
This website is faaabulous!!! I started using the PrePear recipe and planning site and these are so great for having tons of recipes in one place to add to my various collections. I love how you organize each group of recipes by ingredient such as chicken or beef, etc. , it makes it so much easier to scroll through to choose. I have only 7 friends and family that are fellow recipe collection collaborators so far, but I mentioned how great your website is on my Facebook.
I don’t do crafts or much holiday baking, but my husband just retired and I can set up a meal on PrePear’s meal planning area, and he can start our meals, now have more to choose from, wish you every success !!

Where do you get the round log pieces for the centerpieces? They are so expensive at craft shops and on Amazon.
prudentpennypincher.com says
Yes, they can be expensive, but if you sign up for Micheals e-mails, they send 40-50% coupons at least a few times a week and some of their coupons stack with sales. Plus, they do price match and will beat cheaper prices at major retailers and then lower that price by 10%. Sometimes, you can also find them on craigslist, resale stores or discount stores like Home Goods and Big Lots for less than $6. Depending on how many you need, you may be able to buy in bulk online for a discount as well.

I want to go frugal again .. The last time i tried it failed because my son was not interested not that anything other than eatin, playing games and being disrespectful does… but, for my own sanity i want to start again.. What do you suggest.. Thank You.
prudentpennypincher.com says
Hi Julia, I think it’s a good idea to start out saving money on groceries. Its one of the biggest expenses and also the easiest to cut down on.
Dorka says
Hi Julia,
Good on you for going frugal. Shame your son is not supporting you through it. I’m not sure how he is, but I would have started by revarding him with Game Time when he acts like semi decent human being and helps you out a little. One of next steps would be to reuse and recycle us much of your waste as you can without tipping over to becoming horder. And of course to save tons of money on food, there is foraging. You can find something tasty and healthy for most of the year. Of course winter has it’s limitations but even that could be worked with with a little bit open minded approach and will to try something new. Feel free to look for some inspiration on my Instagram @selfsuficientliving. All the best and good luck on your journey. Take it one step at the time 👍😉
